This piece has been professionally framed in a white floater frame.
Sea Glass Sonata I celebrates the luminous, ever-changing colors of the sea through layers of turquoise, aqua, teal, and blue-green, interspersed with earthy neutrals reminiscent of sand, stone, and sea glass weathered by time.
The highly textured surface creates a fragmented, almost mosaic-like landscape. Colors overlap, disappear, and reemerge, suggesting the way treasures beneath the water are revealed and concealed with every shift of tide and light. Deeper passages provide moments of shadow and depth, while brilliant turquoise seems to rise toward the surface.
As the companion to Sea Glass Sonata II, this piece carries a slightly more energetic rhythm—as though capturing the movement of water before it settles into stillness. Together, the works become a visual conversation between movement and calm, depth and light, discovery and memory.
Part of my Sea Glass Sonata series, the work reflects my fascination with transformation: how water, time, and the elements can soften rough edges and turn fragments into something unexpectedly beautiful. Its tactile surface invites viewers to experience the painting through both sight and touch, allowing the work to be explored in a deeply personal and sensory way.
