Low Country Love is an atmospheric reflection on the quiet beauty of coastal landscapes—where water, sky, marsh, and earth seem to dissolve into one another.
Layers of muted blue-green, weathered gray, soft white, and subtle touches of warm earth tones create a surface that feels both organic and timeworn. The extensive texture gives the painting a sense of movement: rippling water, windswept marsh grasses, shifting tides, and the irregular patterns left behind as water recedes. Rather than depicting a specific landscape, the work captures the feeling of being immersed in one.
There is a softness to Low Country Love, but also depth. Light catches the raised surface and continually changes the composition, much as sunlight transforms a coastal landscape throughout the day. From a distance, the colors merge into a serene, almost mist-covered environment; up close, the tactile details reveal an intricate terrain of marks, ridges, and impressions.
The piece is ultimately a love letter to the Lowcountry—not simply to how it looks, but to how it feels: peaceful, weathered, soulful, and forever shaped by the meeting of land and water.
